LOS ANGELES (Reuters life!) – winner Emmy actress Kyra Sedgwick is going to solve the last murder as fascinating but tough detective Brenda Leigh Johnson on the TV show "The Closer".
Friday, the network of TNT said that "the most"--the series most popular based on cable television--would end in 2011, after seven years.
TNT said the decision to conclude that the crime had been made by Sedgwick itself.
"I can't fathom how difficult it is to say goodbye to family unbelievable that we created on" the Closer "," said Sedgwick, thanking the creator James Duff for "such a rich and complex character who I loved live year after year."
Sedgwick, 45, has won a best actress Emmy in August for her role as Johnson, a character who is credited with announces the way for many other parts softer female lead on us television.
"The Closer" attracts an average of 8 million viewers per episode, making the top series based on cable television in the United States. The show is broadcast also widely in Europe and Asia.
"Kyra blazed a new trail in the television landscape with her performance as Brenda Leigh Johnson," said Michael Wright, head of programming for TNT.
The seventh and final will start filming in spring 2011 and transmitted during the year.
