LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – columnist Kathleen Parker is leaving CNN talk show "Parker Spitzer", and the programme of prime time will be renewed with New York's former Governor Eliot Spitzer remaining, alongside other, told CNN on Friday.
CNN said Parker, a Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist for the Washington Post was leaving to focus on his writing. The talk show "Parker Spitzer" debuted in October to disappointing ratings and critical, said that the couple was chemistry as a duo.
Spitzer has sometimes been appearing solo in recent weeks, chairing a show more oriented towards hard news on politics and the upheavals in the Arab States.
"We are pleased with how the 8 pm I became a focal point of substantive conversation, policy-oriented, and we look forward to building that with this new format," CNN Executive vice president Ken Jautz said in a statement.
Jautz said the new programme would have been called "In the Arena" and adopt a format ensemble with several newsmakers, guests and employees joining Spitzer every night. On a regular basis, Spitzer host the exhibition next to news anchor Ed Hill and conservative columnist Will Cain.
