29 April has made an effective national holiday so that everyone can participate in the festivities for Prince William and Kate Middleton. With all the careful planning course in royal wedding, their plans could be spoiled by strikes?
Tube strikes
The network of underground or London underground is usually called the tube. There have been ongoing disputes between Union leaders and the Government as workers tube--especially the driver--call for major advantages, particularly for working holidays. This has led to numerous strikes that might threaten the lives of millions of people. My husband commutes daily to London, so we know first hand how the strikes of the tube can leave people stranded, forcing people to change plans or take off the day and would hurt the city.
As the problem is solved, there were threats that could affect the workers of the pipe on April 29. Threatens to destroy the royal wedding is a dramatic gesture intended to get publicity and force powers-that-be to cede to the Union's demands. the last official statement that Union ASLEF said that there was a strike for the actual wedding day. However, the Union did not show any hesitation to hit holidays before (including on Boxing Day, ruining travel plans many people after Christmas). If they are not satisfied by April, they could easily change their minds.
If ASLEF members strike, would make it more difficult for English averages to get around London and celebrate the festivities. It will also be a calamity and negative on what should be a happy day.
Plan of strikes
British Airways cabin crew is also the fight for greater benefits. Recent strikes have delayed travel plans and people left stranded. Just this week, the Union Merged (as employees BA) has officially approved more strikes. Although BA will continue its activities as close to normal as possible, naturally upsets strikes and service flights.
Currently, there are no dates. However, for maximum disturbance of the Union could choose to strike around the royal marriage and interfere with visitors to tourism.
Prince William and Kate Middleton will have a beautiful wedding or less any transport workers go on strike. However, as a person who wants to enjoy the celebrations, I hope that strike can be avoided.
