LOS ANGELES (Reuters)-the father of teen star Miley Cyrus said the Disney TV show "Hannah Montana" star who made a worldwide, in truth has destroyed his family, and he blamed for sending his daughter out of control.
Country singer Billy Ray Cyrus said she was scared for 18 years ... after a series of scandals, including an infamous video of last year that showed his "getting high on the psychedelic herb salvia.
And he said that he wished that "Hannah Montana" had never happened.
"The damned destroyed my family", Cyrus GQ magazine said in an interview for his edition of March. "I take it back in a second. For my family to be here and just all well, be healthy and safe and happy and normal it would have been fantastic. Heck, Yes. It would be clear it all in a second if I could. "
Cyrus, 49, played the father to his daughter on "Hannah Montana"--an exhibition of Disney Channel sound around a normal teenager from day but a star singing night--which launched Miley Cyrus as a teen idol and sold recording artist.
"Hannah Montana" launched in 2006 and ended after four seasons in January 2011.
Last October, the singer "Achy Breaky Heart" filed for divorce from wife Tish after a marriage of 17 years.
Cyrus compared the current situation of his daughter to stardom as Kurt Cobain, Anna Nicole Smith and Michael Jackson, who died in tragic circumstances.
"I'm scared for her," Miley Cyrus said. "She has a lot of people around her that she is putting in a lot of danger. I know that you are 18 but I still feel like like his dad, I'd like to try to help. Take care of her just a little, to get at least the removal of danger.
"I want to get her to the shelter from the storm. Stop the madness for a minute. When going through what she went through, takes a beating on you, "he said.
Cyrus performed the GQ interview in December, shortly after home video of Miley Cyrus hit Internet smoking hallucinogenic herb salvia for a private party with friends a few days after his 18th birthday.
The grass is not illegal in California, but the pictures of Miley Cyrus risa on stumble convened a year in which she threw aside his image once squeaky clean with video-pop vernacular and scantily clad live performances.
Miley Cyrus last week expressed regret at the incident of salvia, saying she had made a mistake and had disappointed his fans mostly young. She is due to host sketch TV show "Saturday Night Live" for the first time next month.
Billy Ray Cyrus, best known for his country music albums of the 1990s, said that he wished he had been a parent better than Miley and her covered more than they want to be his friend.
"I should have said, ' enough--is always dangerous and someone is going to get hurt». I should have, but I didn't. Honestly I did not know that the ball was out of bounds until was the way to stand somewhere, "he said.
