LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Lady Gaga again influenced by Madonna single "BORN This Way" is expected to storm u.s. album charts this week after record-setting radio play and more than 450,000 downloads, music industry sources say.
And the dance single also has the blessing of the Madonna, Lady Gaga, she said.
"Born that way"--that fans and music critics have compared the Madonna's 1989 hit "Express Yourself"--had sold more than 450,000 weekly during the first three days since its release on Friday, Billboard said, citing industry sources.
It also had a record-setting 4,602 radio takes place in the United States, according to Nielsen. When you release the Billboard Hot 100 on Wednesday, which should see the single debut at no. 1, Billboard, he said.
Lady Gaga addressed influence of Madonna in an appearance on "the Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on Monday.
